I started with block coding because it was the only thing available. It stopped being enough quickly, so I moved to Python, then to C++, then to circuits — because the thing I actually wanted was for the code to do something in the room, not just on the screen.
That is still the whole idea. A sensor reads, a motor turns, a page loads. The interesting part is always the gap between what you intended and what the hardware actually does.
Vanta came out of the same instinct. Someone needed something built properly, and I wanted to find out whether I could be the one to build it.
A design and engineering studio.
I founded it, I run it, and I build in it. When the company is one person, the sales call, the design file, the code and the deploy are the same job.

A distributed Arduino network logging environment data over time.
Dragging blocks around until the logic clicked. The first time a program did what I meant.
Real languages, real errors. A compiler is an honest teacher.
Making code move something physical. Sensors, motors, and a great deal of debugging.
Interfaces, 3D, and shipping things other people actually use.
Turning the work into a company, while still in grade 12.
